Medical Billing Specialist
The Medical Billing Specialist role includes reading and analyzing patient records, determining the correct codes for patient records, using codes to bill insurance providers, interacting with physicians and assistants to ensure accuracy, keeping track of patient data over multiple visits, and performing front desk duties as needed.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and submits clean claims to various insurance companies.
- Answer questions from patients, clerical staff, and insurance companies.
- Identifies and resolves patient-billing complaints.
- Prepares reviews and sends patients statements.
- Evaluates the patient’s financial status and establishes budget payment plans. Follows and reports the status of the delinquent account.
- Reviews account for possible assignment and make recommendations to the practice manager, and prepare reports.
- Performs various collection actions including contacting patients, insurances, correcting, and resubmitting claims to third payers.
- Process payments for insurance companies and prepares daily reports.
Requirements
- Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in all aspects of billing and collection
- Knowledge of dealing with medicare and medicaid along with third party payers is necessary. Prefer a person with a thorough knowledge of the emr system (e-clinical), preferred.
- Must be a devoted, team player capable of helping the other team members such as ceo, medical director, and practice manager.
- ICD-10, CPT HCPCS advance knowledge
- Medical coding experience in a clinical environment
- Excellent in communication, interpersonal, and organization skills.
- Leading skills.

Medical Assistant
Roles & Responsibilities
- Auditing patient records for next business day and ensuring that lab, radiology and procedure or consults are available for providers review at patients’ appointment. Due to EMR change, MA needs to review the Sprint Chart EMR and Clinical and update any information that has not yet entered.
- Vital Signs: Interviewing patients to get medical information and also measuring the vital signs, height and weight. Showing the rooms for examination for patients as well as preparing them for the physicians.
- Record the medical history of patients, test results and vital statistic into the medical records. Update prescriptions accordingly and ensure standing orders are completed according to protocol.
- If needed, collecting laboratory specimen such as blood and prepare the specimen for testing.
- Set up the equipment of laboratory and testing. Calibrations and supplies.
- Performing the sample analyses and the routine tests in the laboratory.
- Sterilize and clean the instruments used and dispose the contaminated supplies before your shift ends.
- Helping physicians examine and treat patients by handing the instruments and materials needed or performing tasks such as removing sutures and injection(s).
- Explaining the procedures of treatment, the medications, diets and the instructions given by physicians to patients.
- Preparing, administering and disposing of medications according to the instructions.
- Schedule follow up appointments of patients with their corresponding providers.
- Contacting the medical departments, i.e. Echo’s, Ultrasounds that will be used for the test or admission of the patients.
- Operate the medical equipment such as EKG or electrocardiogram, Holter Monitor placements and any other equipment to administer tests need for diagnostic.
- Preparing the treatment rooms when will be used and help to keep the rooms neat and clean.
- Authorizing the refills for drugs and providing prescription information to the pharmacies.
- Performing the office duties such as returning patient phone calls, completing medical forms and completions of Clinical jelly beans.
- Inventory of rooms and maintaining supplies for medical lab and exam rooms.
- Keeping updated with EMR upgrades and new program adherence.
- Responsible for keeping any and all credentials needed to maintain your certifications or licenses.
- Flexible with other duties and schedule as assigned or as needed for patient care.
Academic Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Program
- Certified, or Date of Exam
- Minimum 3 years of Medical Clinical Experience
Work Experience
EMR Experience, Preferable EClinical Works V10, Spanish or Farsi speaking preferred.
