Hamid Razavi, PH.D
Hamid Razavi is an Iranian-American who moved to the United States in 1979 to pursue his education, earning a Ph.D. in political science. Since 1994, Razavi has been the President of Paragon Medical Management, offering administrative and consulting services to healthcare facilities. Razavi is also renowned for his local and national philanthropic efforts.
Aside from being the CEO of Paragon Medical Management, he is passionate about the local community and advocates for human rights and socio-economic justice. Razavi has worked and volunteered in numerous organizations, he has worked for the City of Houston’s Affirmative Action Division in the Mayor’s office and City of Houston’s Department of Housing and Community Development, prior to starting his own company in 1994.
Life Mission
In 1994 after studying different communities in Houston, he developed a “medical home” concept in the Gulfton area of Houston. Razavi’s life mission of creating a medical facility that would serve as a second home to immigrants was sparked by his interest in minority and underprivileged health care equity. He presented his big idea to health care entities, and with the support and backing of those visionaries, Razavi helped to develop Hillcroft Physicians P.A.—a medical home for the multicultural and multilingual people in the Gulfton area.
“This is a neighborhood of hard-working people who have come here for a better life,” says Razavi. “It’s a thriving population that has a tremendous appreciation for what they have and what our country offers. But they sometimes don’t have the means to care for health problems, and it’s not just a financial issue. It’s culture, language… a range of obstacles. We provide the services they need all in one place, from pediatrics to elder care, X-rays, and a pharmacy. It’s easy to access and convenient.”
As CEO, Hamid Razavi has managed the business aspects of the Hillcroft Physicians P.A. and developed its fundamental values of being a comprehensive primary care facility that caters to the diverse population of Houston.
