Root Causes of Weight Gain
Addressing weight gain often requires a holistic approach, and that’s what we specialize in! Weight gain can be the result of a combination of several factors, including:
- Caloric Imbalance: Consuming more calories than burned.
- Poor Diet: High intake of processed foods, sugars, and unhealthy fats.
- Sedentary Lifestyle: Lack of physical activity.
- Genetics: Genetic predisposition to store fat.
- Hormonal Imbalances: Conditions like hypothyroidism and PCOS.
- Psychological Factors: Stress, depression, and emotional eating.
- Sleep Deprivation: Disrupted hunger hormones.
- Medications: Side effects of certain drugs.
- Age: Slower metabolism with aging.
- Medical Conditions: Disorders like Cushing’s syndrome.
- Environmental Factors: Availability of high-calorie foods and societal eating norms.
- Metabolic Factors: Individual variations in metabolism.
Is Semaglutide Right for Me?
You may be a candidate for Semaglutide treatment if you struggle with one of the following:
Type 2 Diabetes
- Adults with type 2 diabetes may need Semaglutide to improve blood sugar control, especially if diet and exercise alone are insufficient.
- Patients who may need additional medication to supplement their existing diabetes treatment regimen.
Weight Management:
- Adults with obesity (BMI ≥30) or who are overweight (BMI ≥27) with at least one weight-related condition (e.g., hypertension, type 2 diabetes, or dyslipidemia).
- Individuals who have not achieved adequate weight loss through diet and exercise alone.
Comprehensive Medical Weight Loss Overview
Semaglutide, originally developed to treat type 2 diabetes, has become a cornerstone in modern weight loss medicine due to its effectiveness in reducing appetite, slowing gastric emptying, and enhancing the body’s natural insulin response. By helping individuals feel fuller for longer and lowering blood glucose levels, Semaglutide significantly contributes to decreased calorie intake and sustained weight loss.
Our medical weight-loss program is physician-led, ensuring a comprehensive and personalized approach to managing obesity. The program integrates Semaglutide as part of a broader strategy that includes tailored nutrition plans, physical activity recommendations, and lifestyle modifications. This holistic approach addresses various factors contributing to weight gain or retention, such as underlying medical conditions and individual metabolic responses.
Hillcroft’s treatment plans are designed to help patients achieve and maintain a healthy Body Mass Index (BMI). By combining Semaglutide with professional guidance on diet and exercise, patients receive support in making sustainable lifestyle changes. The goal is not only to promote weight loss but also to enhance overall health and well-being, empowering patients to reach their weight management goals through a balanced and medically supervised regimen.
How Semaglutide Works
Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist that regulates appetite and digestion, leading to reduced calorie intake and increased satiety.
Semaglutide signals the brain to reduce hunger, making it easier to stick to a calorie-controlled diet. Semaglutide helps lower blood sugar levels and can be beneficial for individuals with type 2 diabetes. Semaglutide promotes favorable changes in cardiovascular risk factors, such as blood pressure, cholesterol, and inflammation markers.
